Wystawa rekonstruuje drogę do utworzenia Centrum Spotkania Kultur. Jest także pierwszą próbą zmierzenia się ze skomplikowanymi dziejami gmachu, w którym oprócz tytułowej instytucji swoje siedziby mają m.in. Filharmonia Lubelska, Teatr Muzyczny czy Teatr Andersena. Narracja ekspozycji obejmuje blisko pięć dekad budowy obiektu, a ponadto przywołuje wcześniejsze plany wzniesienia siedziby Teatru Dramatycznego oraz uwzględnia historię samego miejsca – jego zmieniające się w czasie funkcje i otoczenie urbanistyczne.
Po meandrycznych ścieżkach dziejów budowy prowadzą licznie zgromadzone świadectwa prasowe, archiwalia i fotografie. Wystawa pozwala też zapoznać się z projektami architektonicznymi z różnych okresów historii budynku, a także umożliwia przyjrzenie się wybranym oryginalnym elementom wystroju i wyposażenia wnętrz, w końcu zaprasza do wysłuchania i obejrzenia dokumentów filmowych.
Ekspozycja zachęca więc do spojrzenia na gmach Centrum Spotkania Kultur nie tylko w wymiarze wizualno-użytkowym, ale także jak na monument historii. Oba te wymiary współtworzą niepowtarzalną tożsamość CSK, a zarazem stanowią tło dla koncertów, spektakli i wystaw, które wypełniają bieżącą działalność instytucji.
Wystawę przygotowano w 50. rocznicę podjęcia uchwały o budowie w Lublinie Teatru Dramatycznego oraz w 6. rocznicę oddania Centrum Spotkania Kultur do użytkowania.

CROSS-CULTURAL CROSSROADS
From the Dramatic Theatre to the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures – an exhibition on the history of construction
The exhibition reconstructs to road to the opening of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures. It is also the first attempt to present the complex history of the building, which is home not only to the eponymous institution, but also to the Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Musical Theatre and the Andersen Theatre. The narrative of the exhibition spans nearly five decades of the building’s construction and, reflecting upon the earlier plans to build a home for the Dramatic Theatre and taking into account the history of the place itself – its changing functions and urban environment evolving over time.
Numerous press releases, archives and photographs guide visitors along the tangled paths of the building’s history. The exhibition also provides an insight into the architectural designs for the building from different periods of its history and an overview of some original decorative and interior design elements, and finally showing film footage for the viewers to watch and listen to.
The exhibition encourages us to view the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures not only through its visual and utilitarian aspects, but also as a monument to history. Both of these aspects jointly create the unique identity of the Centre and serve as the backdrop for its ongoing activities, such as concerts, performances and exhibitions.
The exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the resolution on the construction of the Dramatic Theatre in Lublin and the 6th anniversary of the opening of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures.

Від Драматичного Театру до Центру Зустрічі Культур - виставка присвячена історії будівництва.
Виставка відтворює шлях до створення Центру Зустрічі Культур. Це також перша спроба прийняти виклик складної історії будівлі, в якій крім титульної інституції між іншими знаходиться головний офіс Люблінської Філармонії, Музичного Театру та Театру Андерсена. Експозиція містить розповідь приблизно п‘яти декад будівництва об‘єкту , а також згадує ранні плани щодо створення будівлі Драматичного Театру і враховує історію самого місця - його мінливі функції та урбаністичне оточення.
По звивистих стежках історії будівництва ведуть численні повідомлення в пресі, архіви та фотографії. Виставка знайомить нас з архітектурними проектами різних періодів історії будівлі, дозволяє ознайомитися з вибраними оригінальними елементами дизайну інтер’єру, і нарешті запрошує послухати та переглянути документальні фільми.
Виставка заохочує поглянути на будівлю Центру Зустрічі Культур не лише у візуальному та функціональному вимірах, а і як на історичну пам’ятку. Обидва ці виміри вносять свій внесок у унікальну ідентичність ЦЗК, і водночас слугують фоном для концертів, вистав та виставок, які наповнюють поточну діяльність установи.
Виставка підготовлена до 50-річчя постанови про будівництво Драматичного театру в Любліні та до 6-ї річниці початку роботи Центру Зустрічі Культур.
