"Don't seek for truth, seek for friends," was an often repeated saying of the late Father Joseph Tischner. He found many friends from different parts of Poland, and recently they all came together to remember him in Łopuszna.
As the priest said during the Mass which preceded the rememberance, all those for whom Father Tischner was simply "Joe" came together to remember him. There were his friends from the newspapers, from the publishing house Znak, Mountainmen from his village, family and actors who performed in the television movie version of 'A History of Philosophy as the Mountainmen Have it.' Archbishop Stanisław Dziwisz sent his well wishes in a letter to those assembled. "We would like to come together and remember him, but also come together for the purpose of sitting together, eating, drinking and talking together.
