In July, Polish theater will take off, as it does each year, to take part in the 62nd Theater Festival in Avignione, where they will take part in the Off Theater portion of the festival. Ewa Ignaczak, from the Stajnia Pegaza Theater in Gdańsk, will bring the play "Oh, Ode, Ode!" to the festival, based on the Ode to Joy.

Another play to be presented by Poles is "The Chemistry of Halucination," by Joanna Czajowska and Jacek Krawczyk, from the Okazjonalny Theater in Sopot. The play is a choreographical interpretation of the poetry of Zbigniew Herbert. The main Avignione festival will feature only one play with a "Polish accent" in it this year; namely Sutra, directed by the Belgian Sidi Larbi Cherkaou. The music to the play is composed by Szymon Brzośka of Poznań.
