Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, Minister of Education Michał Seweryński and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Kazimierz Ujazdowski, announced today that the government will promote and support all NGO ventures aimed at patriotic education of young people. The project will be called "A Patriotic Tomorrow."
In his remarks, Prime Minister Marcinkiewicz spoke to today's National Independence Day, saying that "Patriotism of the Heart is growing all the time. It is extremely important for patriotism to grow in the hearts of young people." The government declaration forsees supporting educational projects taken up by NGOs, holding competitions for the most patriotic school books, films, television shows, plays and other media aimed at young people. The idea follows on the heels of a project called "Testimony from the Past," initiated by the Center of Civic Education and the special competition in Wrocław called 'A Poster Holiday' which tied into the custom of putting up posters commemorating important historical celebrations in the windows of homes and schools.
