A real revolution is taking place in the 'Miejski' Theater, named for Witold Gombrowicz in Gdynia. The theater's directorship, directors, and actors are staging meetings with young theater goers following each premiere, where they discuss the ins and outs of working in a theater.
On Saturday, the 16th of April, during the first such discussion, the public got a chance to learn about scene changes made by the director the the student play "Kontrabasista," which had just premiered. "We want to encourage the young to discuss scripts, acting and the hard work that goes into making theater," said Jacek Bunsch, the Theater's director general. The public forums are to be cyclical, usually taking place once or twice a month. After a performance, audiences will have the opportunity to hold discussions with directors, actors and to comment on the subject of the play they'd just watched. They will also get the chance to write reviews for a competition. The meetings are meant to bring young people closer to the world of theater, to the particularities of live acting and the problem of adapting literature to the stage. The next meeting will be on Saturday, the 23 of April at 7 pm, following the performance of 'Madame Julie,' by Strindberg. The play is directed by P
