The Polish duet, Elettro Voce, composed of Agata Zubel (pictured) and Cezary Duchnowski, has been invited to Moscow for the Acoustic Music Festival that commences today.
This young pair of musicians and composers have already won many awards at numerous prestigious events. In 2004, they were nominated to recieve the "Passport" award from the Polish weekly, Polityka, in the category of serious music. Ultimately Agata Zubel recieved the award. They recently took fourth place and recieved a special award at the international Gaudeamus competition in Holland. "This will be our first concert in Moscow," Agata Zubel says, "We will present our own work, in addition to compositions by Berio and Vinao. We'll also take part in an improv music concert where all participants will be present. It'll be an interesting meeting of people from different countries, and different artistic backgrounds." Alongside the Russian participants, DJ Spooky from New York will also be present. "During the summer of last year, I took part in this kind of marathon in Darmstadt. We had a few days to prepare.
