This year's Street Artists Festival in Szczecin not only featured numerous performances to watch, but just as many workshops in which one could participate. Children learned how to play the drums. A number of youngsters gathered round the Kana Theater and attempted to master the musical art. Thankfully, their teacher, John Enemuo, from Nigeria, was extremely patient and repeated his instructions as long as it took for the kids to find the proper rhythm. Starting from the simplest of beats, the children progressed in their learning towards more complicated drumming. All of this took place in a happy atmosphere of learning.
The language of music and rhythm was also present during the singing workshops held by Barbara Wilinska. The workshop participants discovered the hidden power of their own singing voices. The workshops were held without stress, since the teacher's primary rule was never forcing anyone to do anything. This approach had the effect of encouraging people to find their singing voices without fear that the first few steps of this process would embarrass them. There were also Circus workshops; primarily aimed at the youngest children, taught by the Stella Polaris Theater. Many of the workshop participants already had a few past experiences with this theater, because in June, they held similar workshops in Norway. Many of the participants, both in Szczeciń and Norway learned about song and dance, and practiced acrobatics.
