The value of Staniewski's plays is outlined by their manner of shaping form, which is in accordance to our times and which allows a full appreciation of the play in spite of the doubts that all contemporary art has had about it for the past half a century. Most of the time, when you say Gardzienice, you have bundled up in one word the entire phenomena of creativity, both artistic and theatrical of the artists from the little village near Lublin, under the tutelage of Włodzimierz Staniewski. However, given that it was theater, and not the particular place that was at the center of interest for these artists, it is actually more appropriate to speak of Staniewski's theater.
