Marcin Brzozowski, an actor from Lodź, is requesting that Zbigniew Zarzycki, the director of the Parchowski House of Culture, apologize to him for what the actor considers slanderous libel. The actor feels that he has been slandered by director Zarzycki who insinuated that the actor propagates pornography and undresses in front of minors during his artistic workshops.
"These are horrible lies and I demand a public apology; if this gentleman does not apologize I will take him to court," says Marcn Brzozowski. Zarzycki, for his part, has no intention of apologizing: "I have nothing to apologize for; it is Mr. Brzozowski who sould apologize for all the bad things he did in our city and I am not afraid of court." This is just another chapter in the long conflict over culture in the city. Earlier, Mr. Zarzycki displayed pictures that were to incriminate Mr. Brzozowski and a certain Jaromir Szroeder during a session of the city council. The pictures were taken during early dawn and showed a naked Mr. Brzozowski during one of his workshops for young people, presenting his play 'En Face.' In Zarzycki's opinion, this is an example of public nudity and lude conduct. Brzozowski notes otherwise: "There is nothing pornographic in these pictures.
